Against the backdrop of stringent requirements for ‘high-brightness visibility’ in outdoor displays and heightened focus on energy consumption costs amid global low-carbon trends, the core advantages of through-hole LED displays continue to evolve.
In outdoor display scenarios, screens must remain clearly visible under direct sunlight, demanding high brightness from the equipment. However, high brightness often comes with high energy consumption, increasing operational costs over prolonged use. Through-hole LED displays have resolved this contradiction through advantageous upgrades, emerging as the market's new favourite.
The enhanced brightness stems from optimised optical design of the LED chips. During production, the light emission angle and optical lens of the LED lamp bead have been redesigned. The adoption of a ‘120° wide-angle lens’ replaces the traditional 60° lens. This not only enhances brightness (achieving over 10,000 cd/m²) but also ensures no brightness reduction when viewing the display from different angles, resolving the issue of traditional displays appearing dimmer when viewed from the side. For instance, in circular outdoor plaza displays, viewers can clearly perceive content whether positioned frontally or laterally, thereby enhancing information dissemination effectiveness. Additionally, the LED chips employ ‘optimised primary colour ratio’ technology. The brightness and wavelength of red, green, and blue chips undergo precise calibration, achieving an NTSC colour gamut coverage exceeding 85%. This delivers more authentic colour reproduction, meeting the high vibrancy requirements of outdoor advertising.
The low-power advantage stems from innovations in the driver chip and power management system. During production, the display incorporates a new constant-current driver chip. Compared to traditional chips, this offers 50% greater current control precision, preventing brightness fluctuations and additional energy consumption caused by current variations. This reduces energy consumption per LED by 15%. Furthermore, the device features a built-in intelligent power management system that automatically adjusts display brightness based on ambient light levels: under strong sunlight, brightness automatically increases to maximum (10,000 cd/m²); while at dusk or on overcast days, it reduces to 5000-6000 cd/m², ensuring optimal display quality while minimising unnecessary energy consumption. Data indicates that through-hole LED displays employing this system achieve a 30%-40% reduction in average daily energy consumption compared to conventional equipment. Taking a 100m² outdoor display as an example, this translates to annual electricity savings of approximately £2,000-£3,000.
Beyond high brightness and low power consumption, the through-hole LED display further enhances maintenance convenience. Its production process employs a magnetic module design, where display modules attach magnetically to the frame for tool-free, rapid removal and replacement. Should a module malfunction, technicians can complete replacement within 1-2 minutes, significantly reducing downtime for maintenance. Furthermore, the system incorporates a remote monitoring system that tracks the operational status of each individual LED in real time. Should any LED exhibit abnormalities, the system automatically alerts maintenance personnel, enabling ‘early warning and precise repairs’. This minimises display interruptions caused by faults and reduces maintenance costs.
Driven by these enhanced capabilities, through-hole LED displays have gained widespread adoption in outdoor advertising, transport hubs, and sports venues. They not only fulfil high-definition display requirements under intense outdoor lighting but also align with low-carbon, energy-efficient principles, delivering greater value to users.
